Mandella is a favorite of many Australian
breeders. We always felt he deserved to win more specialties than he did – he was so
often the hot tip. Nevertheless, he made it into Specialty history as an 8 year old dog
when Cinzia Aimaretti judged in Sydney.
Mandella has only had 4 litters, and only one was
bred by us. His most famous off-spring is Australia and New Zealand Ch. Kalutara Guns
N Roses, a Specialty and multiple All-Breeds Best-In-Show Winner. Unfortunately, he
became sterile quite young, and the several litters we had planned for him never
eventuated. Fortunately we have been able to continue this line through Ch. Khandhu Didgeri Blue - his dam was Ch. Khandhu flo Jo, litter sister to Mandella.
Always a super showman, he was shown in full coat at the National in sydney in 2000 as a 10 year old, and was placed 5th in the Open Dog Class. Mandella won so many fifth placings at specialties, that his nick name was "Fifth". He was co-owned with MaryJayne Eather, but lived his entire life with us.
